“Approved Special Projects”
As fully
committed, life-long followers of Christ we joyfully offer our
financial support to the local church where we worship, pray, study
God’s Word, fellowship with other believers, and mobilize to spread
the Gospel.
At Woodland Shores we encourage all members and
church friends to contribute faithfully to the Annual Ministry
Operating Budget which underwrites our ongoing programs for kids,
students, adults, seniors, community outreach, and meets our
building and administrative needs.
Beyond that as God leads, individuals are invited to support
Global Missions, the Benevolent Fund, and reduction of the Mortgage
Balance on the Family Life Center.
Recognizing that many Christians also can be
inspired to support additional giving opportunities, we offer a
short list of “Approved Special Projects” that have been identified
by the Pastoral Staff, Deacon Board, and Church Treasurer.
We believe that these items will significantly enhance our
church life and outreach, and provide additional avenues of giving
for those people whom God has financially blessed.
Short-Term Special
Projects carry an estimated cost up
to $2,500 and have an expected time horizon up to twelve months.
Long-Term Special Projects require larger financial
investments and extend over an expected time horizon greater than
one year.
The list of “Approved Special Projects” is
updated in January and July, and posted for public information and
encouragement.
Has God blessed you with discretionary financial
resources? Will you
consider helping us realize these opportunities?
If so, mark your tax-deductible gift as indicated below.
Short-Term Projects (July 1-December 31, 2011)
1.
“Summer-2011Short-Term Missions Trip to Belize” – $1,400/person
Give financial assistance for WSBC students and
adults (20 total) who will work alongside local pastors and churches
for outreach, children's ministry, mercy ministry, and minor
construction.
2.
“Worship Center Banners” – $1,500
Help us better honor the majesty and splendor of
God with beautiful seasonal banners.
3.
“Worship Center Computer” – $1,500
We want to utilize media presentations to enhance
worship and reinforce sermon themes; however, our computer in the
Worship Center cannot handle this very well.
Long-Term Special Projects
1.
“Mortgage Debt on the Family Life Center”
The
current mortgage balance of $285,432 (as of 03/31/11) is being paid
down at the rate of $48,000/year from our Operating Budget
plus income received as
church members fulfill a three-year pledge that started in March
2009. Full payoff of
this loan will result in a yearly savings of $65,000 in our
Operating Budget. Gifts
to pay down the remaining Mortgage Debt put us nearer to the finish
line so we are debt free!
(Original Project cost in 2003 was $1,600,000; Original
Mortgage loan was $960,000.)
